We love this shape for a carry on but needed wheels for the heavy bag during airport layovers. We found this bag- the only one this size with wheels. Most are too big for this purpose. We bought 2. These bags saved us in Europe. They expand to 22". We wanted it as practical carry ons, didn't even realize they expanded from 17" and didn't plan on ever expanding them. When our luggage was lost we immediately used the expanded part for the extra stuff we had to buy. It is accessible, has handy packets (though zipper compartments on both ends would even be better) and a good quality wheeling device which disappears when not used. The weight is good considering the wheeling device. However we had several flights during the trip and the bag's fabric (vinyl) easily scrapes in the airline compartments. Wish they made this bag in a ballistic nylon. Would even pay more for that if necessary. Otherwise it is great. We have 2 and are glad we bought them, cannot find another like it anywhere for this purpose.
