I bought this as a travel backpack but use it on day hikes as well. I love timeless, durable pieces. The roomy design is versitile and the bag holds quite a bit of "stuff". It's comfortable to wear hiking, except on the hottest days. My teenage son loves the bag, too and borrows it occassionally. Excellent quality, excellent contruction, beautiful leather that feels nice, not cheap or cheesy like a lot of imports.
