Rimowa suitcases have been manufactured ever since the last century. Rimowa's long tradition started in Cologne in 1898 as manufacturers of luggage under the corporate name of Kofferfabrik Paul Morszeck. Richard Morszeck, the founder's son, was inspired by an unusual material. In 1937 he launched the first overseas trunk of aluminium on the market. A further functional zenith was attained in 1976 when Dieter Morszeck, the third generation of Rimowa management, developed the first watertight suitcases, specially designed to meet the professional demands of photographers and reporters. The waterproof Rimowa system reliably protects sensitive items of equipment against water, humidity, tropical heat and the arctic cold. No wonder that many film and TV crews use Rimowa suitcases.
