I use this product on a daily basis to bring the laptop to and from school.
It's great because it's low priced, has a sturdy build, lightweight, and you can take the strap off so there's "less" to carry and less potential for a tangle. Just use the two handles at the top and it's professional and stylish.
The padding is on the weak side. It's a thin layer of neoprene. If Impulse or any brand makes a thin 13" sleeve with airbag technology or other more substantial padding, price would not be an issue.
Until then, this is one of the best alternatives.

I purchased this for my 10.1" netbook, and it is a little too large, but gets the job done and looks very stylish. It has room for my charger and wireless mouse, along with a small amount of paperwork.
