If you want to carry a bunch of peripherals along with your notebook, then you need a notebook case. But when you don't need to carry the other stuff, a notebook sleeve, being smaller, much lighter and less cumbersom, is preferable. That is why I bought it and it is the best such product for that purpose that I am aware of. It appears to be well made and the price is reasonable.

This sleeve is excellent. I have tried many others and they all have a zipper that potentially scratches the laptop upon insertion or provide very cheap protection. Not only is this very sturdy for a sleeve, the sides of this case also provide excellent protection from minor hits and bumps. \n\nRemember this is just a sleeve and is not intended to protect from drops. But it does an excellent job as a sleeve for a 17" laptop. Go to the internet and check out the others - this sleeve is the best you can find!
