This is a nice product- however it is prone to 2 effects: 1) Possible false high reading due to little jerky motion while lifting the baggage and 2) Possible false low reading due to a little hysteresis in the spring, esp when the actual weight is very close to the instantaneous load on the spring (thus lifting the bag too slowly is also bad). If you are aware of these effects and lift the bag slowly and keep the weight to 49 lbs then you will be safe for the 50 lb limit. Overall I just loved this product. It def saves you the over-weight fee in airlines.

I keep this little beauty packed in the bag I always take when traveling. No more will I be caught in Mexico and pay an over weight charge. I'm so impressed, I bought one for both of my sons. And, it measures in kilograms, too (for Canada and Europe).
